August brings us the final eclipse season of 2026, and it tells the story of the year beautifully.

The month opens one door and closes another. On August 12, a total solar eclipse in Leo begins activating the new Leo–Aquarius eclipse cycle, calling us toward courage, creativity and greater visibility. Then, on August 28, a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces returns us to the Virgo–Pisces axis for an emotional culmination and release.

Together, these eclipses create a bridge between two chapters: one centred on healing, discernment and surrender, and another inviting us to step forward, take up space and make a more visible impact.

August’s Eclipses at a Glance

August 12: Total Solar Eclipse in Leo

Solar eclipses are powerful New Moons, associated with beginnings and seeds that unfold over the months and even years ahead.

Leo is the sign of creative self-expression, courage, play, leadership and heart. It describes the part of us that wants to contribute something unmistakably our own—not simply for applause, but because authentic expression is an essential part of being alive.

This eclipse does not whisper. It asks: Are you ready to be seen?

For some, this may coincide with a creative launch, a new leadership role or a growing desire to become more visible. For others, it may reveal where fear of judgment has kept them small, quiet or overly dependent on outside approval.

It feels less like a beginning and more like an emotional epilogue: a final piece of understanding, grief, forgiveness or surrender that allows a chapter to close.

Pisces governs dreams, compassion, spirituality and the invisible currents beneath our lives. At its most difficult, it can blur boundaries, romanticize what is not working or keep us attached through hope alone.

Opposite Pisces, Virgo asks us to discern, define and respond practically. This eclipse may illuminate tension between surrender and control, intuition and analysis, compassion and self-sacrifice, or spiritual trust and everyday reality.

Something may need to be felt before it can be fixed, or accepted because it cannot be fixed in the way we once imagined.

The August eclipses remind us that beginnings and endings are rarely separate. Sometimes we must release an old dream before we can step into a more authentic one. Sometimes being seen requires leaving behind the version of ourselves that learned to survive by remaining invisible.

The year began by asking us to refine, restructure and clarify. Now the energy is turning outward.
