For the beginner
As I mentioned in my last post, I am delighted to be teaching again this year starting with a Level 1 Astrology Class. My teaching style is fun and yet comprehensive. You will learn a ton of astrology in just three months.
This course is for anyone interested in astrology but knows little about it AND also for anyone who knows some basics but needs to formalize their knowledge and learn how to synthesize a natal chart.
You will learn:
- the planets, signs and houses in depth
- elements and modalities
- the angles of a chart, hemispheres and quadrants
- zodiacal state (how each planet functions in each sign)
- the five major aspects as well as the quincunx
- the qualities of each of the ascendants and how to recognize each ascending sign
- the phases of the Moon
- chart and aspect patterns
- how to complete a chart wheel by hand
- Melanie’s special method for chart delineation
At the end of 12 weeks, you will be able to delineate any birth chart from an introductory point of view.

For the advanced student or practising astrologer
For the more advanced student, I will also be teaching a two part course on the Morin Tradition, each eight weeks long.

The Morin Tradition Part 1
This class is for students who have an existing knowledge of astrology or who have completed Levels 1 and 2. You’ll never look at astrology charts the same way again after learning Morin’s methodology! The first of this two-part course will sharpen your abilities to accurately and quickly judge the character, abilities, challenges and overall future of a natal chart. We look at Morin’s theory of determination, determining cause and effect, planetary influence, combining aspects, analogies, zodiacal state and more. I will introduce you to my personal chart delineation method (mostly based on Morin) that will always get to the heart of any natal chart.
Readings are given each week. We spend our time in class working on our own charts. Each class is 90 minutes long. All notes are provided.
Dates/Times – Weekly 90 min class once a week for 8 weeks (Dates/Times TBA)
Prerequisite: CAAE Levels 1 and 2 or equivalent

The Morin Tradition Part 2
The second part of this course examines the archetype, house distortion and derivative houses, an in-depth study of the lights, universal significators, mutual reception, combustion, rules for aspects and more. We spend a great deal of time delineating charts and have a couple of classes devoted to the charts of serial killers.
Readings are given each week. We spend our time in class working on our own charts. Each class is 90 minutes long. All notes are provided.
